CDP, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) have written an open letter to Erik Thedéen, Director General of Finansinspektionen, Sweden, and Chair of the Sustainable Finance Task Force of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
The letter builds on the joint statement of intent, co-published by the five collaborating organisations, which presents a shared vision of the elements necessary for comprehensive corporate reporting. It also explains how these organisations’ frameworks and standards complement Financial GAAP and provide the natural starting point for progress towards a globally coherent solution.
The organisations set out how IOSCO can play a leading and critical role in accelerating the system change by facilitating cooperation among the necessary elements of this global architecture for consistent reporting of sustainability information that is relevant for enterprise value creation, as part of a comprehensive system of corporate reporting.
